Gabr el Bint (“The Grave of the Girl”) is one of the best (and most pristine) dive sites in North Sinai. Divers can choose from two routes – but why not try both of them?
First, you have the right side (also known as the dark side) with its steep wall that drops to over 60 meters/190 feet, with its sandy ravines and overhangs. Alternatively, there’s the left side with its colorful garden of gorgonians and coral heads, some of the healthiest in the Red Sea.
Anthias, crocodile fish, scorpionfish, parrotfish, triggerfish, surgeonfish, trumpetfish, white snappers, twinspot snappers, stingrays, and sea turtles are some of the marine animals you can expect to see at Gabr el Bint.
The dive depth ranges between 12 and 30 meters/40-100 feet, but some descend to more than 50 meters/165 feet. Gabr el Bint is recommended to advanced divers.
