For wreck enthusiasts, one of the best sites in Madagascar is the Mitsio wreck, a 25-meter long trawler that lies straight in 30 meters/100 feet of water. The boat was sunk on purpose to create an artificial reef.
The wreck is now teeming with life of all sorts, including schools of small and large fish. You can see marine animals such as jacks, red lionfish, rockfish, boxfish, eels, frogfish, and other fascinating critters.
You can explore the Mitsio wreck all year round, but the best time to dive in Madagascar is probably from June to September.
