The Chapel is a dive site suitable for intermediate divers and up, due to many instances where novice divers got themselves lost from the group. Furthermore, its depths go down to as much as 30 meters/100 feet.
Located east of Ayia Napa, the Chapel offers sightings of damselfish, sea bream, scorpionfish, and groupers. Old amphorae are present too. This is also a popular night dive, as that’s when the octopuses come out in search of food.
The official diving season in Cyprus runs from March to November, but diving is possible year-round, nonetheless. Visibility generally exceeds 20 meters/65 feet when the seas are calm and water temperatures range from 16 to 27° C/60-80° F during the warmer months mentioned above and slightly cooler the rest of the year.
