Cabo Douglas is a great drift dive site off Fernandina Island in the Galapagos Islands. This spot offers a wide array of marine life, including Galapagos marine iguanas, Galapagos penguins, sea turtles, yellow boxfish, parrotfish, amberjacks, and groupers. The sea bottom is covered with corals, sponges, and gorgonians.
The maximum dive depth here is only 22 meters/72 feet, but the strong currents make it a rather difficult site for beginners. It, nonetheless, a great drift spot for experienced divers. Visibility is usually very good, sometimes reaching 30 meters/10 feet. The best time for a dive is February to May, when the weather is more stable.
