Situated at Hikka Tranz, Hikkaduwa, they have the most ideal location for diving. Right in front of the Walduwa, Rock outcrops, and Coral gardens, which provide plenty of snorkelling, and free diving areas for the enthusiast. It also provides us with several Safe sites, for the beginner scuba diver to discover and truly appreciate the underwater experience. One can also relax in between dives, feeding, and swimming with the several large friendly green sea turtles that come right up to the shore, at the foot of our dive center.

Dive Seenigama, Dive Lanka lets you explore diving sites all over the region – from the ancient colonial era wrecks around Hikkaduwa to the amazing coral gardens and rock formations scattered across the Southern Sri Lanka coastline, where centuries of coral growth may be seen and photographed.
Dive Seenigama, Dive Lanka is not just a diving centre. It’s part of the business branch of the Foundation of Goodness, a post-Tsunami relief organization based in Seenigama, and it trains locals in diving and swimming skills, generating jobs in those industries. Any money you spend diving with them goes directly toward the charity and allows it to continue to train all of the recruits it takes every year.

The family started the diving center in 1991, the first divers to start up such an endeavour in Unawatuna, offering diving, boat trips and snorkelling in the area. It began as a small family business, established by their father, A. K Gnannadasa, more popularly known as Gnanai. The dive team consisted of two instructors, Gnanai and Lakshman Muthukuda, and four brothers, Shirly, Chamli, Dinesh and Wisni.
They were thriving very well, until suddenly in 2004, the Boxing Day Tsunami destroyed everything.
In the disaster, they lost their father Gnanai and brother Chamli, who went off to help and save people from the ocean. Chamli was found in the bay, suffering a severe head injury and died in the arms of brother Shirly. Their father also suffered head injury, but his body was not found until the next day, when Shirly searched and found him 800m inland. All the equipment was lost from the dive center, and the center itself completely demolished.
Since then it's been a tough road, restarting from scratch with little support but relentless effort to bring them back to the way they were. Donation was collected from friends to purchase new equipment, and a humble new dive center was rebuilt in the west side of Unawatuna bay.
Shirly now runs the dive center with his younger brother Wisni. They hope to continue the family legacy and take divers from around the world to experience the underwater wonders that their home village has to offer! :)
