Shark Bait Shallow

Dive site in
Improve

Shark Bait Shallow is a beautiful dive site in Roatan, dominated by brain corals, lettuce leaf corals, gorgonians, and other types of sea fans. The coral bed leads to a sloping wall that descends to great depths. Look for nurse sharks along the sandy bottom; they love to hide in the sandy channels. There are plenty of other marine creatures that frequent the site, including stingrays, eels, flounders, blue tangs, surgeonfish, groupers, clownfish, sea turtles, and seahorses.

Depth ranges from 6 meters (20 feet) to way beyond the recreational diving limits. Nonetheless, Shark Bait Shallow is suitable for divers of all levels as long as they remain within their certification limits. Diveable year-round with good visibility.
