Rainbow Reef has a dive site depth which goes from 6 meters to 25 meters, and an average visibility that goes beyond 15 meters.

The depth as well as the fact that it is easily accessible, being a shore dive, makes it a popular dive site among the novice divers as well. Nevertheless, the more advanced divers can always find something intriguing and interesting to see here as well.

The marine life species which populate Rainbow Reef include nudibranchs, species of large corals such as elephant ear corals, crustaceans (shrimps, lobsters, crabs), moray eels, octopus, parrotfish, butterflyfish, lionfish, scorpionfish, wrasse.

Rainbow Reef is one of the best dive sites on the island of Roatan due to the sheer diversity and abundance of marine life. Furthermore, it is really close to the shore, only a 2-3 minutes away by boat, and with a maximum depth of around 25-30 meters, as well as a mild current, it is recommended to be explored by divers of at least intermediate level.

The topography here is also interesting, as there are numerous channels.

The species which populate Rainbow Reef include hard corals, gorgonians, barracudas, jacks, turtles, snappers, octopus, moray eels, as well as the occasional hammerhead sharks and numerous reef fish.
