El Emisario is a dive site located off Playa Blanca, in the south of Lanzarote. The dive takes you down a lava tongue that goes to a depth of about 18 meters (59 feet). The topography of the site is also defined by the overhangs and crevices that hide all sorts of marine life. There are also some large tubes from a submarine outfall that provide refuge to many sea creatures as well.

Dusky groupers, island groupers, octopus, rays, moray eels, slipper lobster, spider crabs, anemones, cleaner shrimp, stingrays, and even angel sharks can be spotted here.

The best diving seasons in Lanzarote are summer and autumn when the water boasts visibility reaching up to 40 meters (130 feet). Nonetheless, diving is possible year-round, with usually little to no current. The water temperature ranges from 13° to 25° C/55°-77° F depending on the time of the year.
