Alung Banua is a beautiful dive site located within the Bunaken National Park, Indonesia. It is made up of a steep wall filled with crevices and crannies, and a few caves. At around 20 meters/66 feet, there’s a group of caves that provide the ideal backdrop for an overall picture of the reef.

The wall is covered with hard coral and is home to a variety of marine life. You can spot schooling snappers, fusiliers, parrotfish, butterflyfish, sea snakes, sea turtles, numerous anthias, and even some blacktip and whitetip reef sharks.

The diving depth at Alung Banua varies from 18 to 25 meters/59-82 feet and the visibility ranges from 15 to 25 meters/49-82 feet. Suitable for divers of all levels.

Really underestimated dive site. We had to dive there on the start of OWD course when instructor needs lagoon. But wall on that side of island is really steep and full of life. Really recommend this dive site as an afternoon dive when sunlight do its magic and create really nice atmosphere. Some video from Alung Banua: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpF1ZoMr9oE
